Draft for review. This policy describes how the Yubyub beta is designed to work. It will be checked and finalised before the App Store launch.
Yubyub is made by [Company name], [Company address] ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Yubyub app and yubyub.app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: friends see when you're free or busy, never what you're doing.
What we collect

Your calendar and roster
- Calendars. If you connect Apple or Google Calendar, Yubyub reads the start and end times of your events to work out when you're busy. Event titles, locations, notes and attendees are not shared with friends.
- Rosters. If you upload a roster screenshot or PDF, Yubyub reads your duties, times and cities. Colleagues' names are removed as the roster is read.
- What friends see. Your yubi, name, city, local time and whether you're free, busy or maybe. Nothing else from your schedule.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data.
- We don't show anyone when you're online.
- We don't use your calendar or Journal content for advertising.
Who helps us run Yubyub
We use a small number of service providers to host and run the app, under agreements that limit how they use your data:
- Supabase, for our database, sign-in and file storage.
- Expo, Apple and Google, for push notifications.
- Cloudflare, to host yubyub.app and our beta waitlist.
- Google Workspace, for our support email.
Your data may be stored and processed outside your country. We take steps to protect it wherever it is processed.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. If you delete your account in the app (Me → Settings → Account), we delete your profile, schedule and Journal content within 30 days, except where we must keep something by law. Waitlist emails are deleted after launch if you don't create an account.
Your choices and rights
- Change who sees your schedule in Me → Who sees your schedule.
- Disconnect a calendar or remove a roster at any time.
- Turn notifications off in the app or in your phone's settings.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us.
Depending on where you live (for example Singapore's PDPA, the EU and UK GDPR, or California's CCPA), you may have further rights. Contact us and we'll help.
Children
Yubyub isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has signed up, contact us and we'll remove the account.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
